Who we are and what we do

Islington Clinical Commissioning Group is the local membership organisation led by family doctors that is responsible for planning and paying for healthcare services. 

We do not provide healthcare. Our role is to commission appropriate NHS care for the people of Islington.   This process involves planning, buying and monitoring health services from healthcare providers such as hospitals and GP practices for our local population to ensure the highest quality of healthcare. We also have a performance monitoring role of these services, which includes responding to any concerns from our patients about services offered.
