Frances O’Callaghan joining as new Accountable Officer for North Central London CCGs

The five North Central London Clinical Commissioning Groups (NCL CCGs) have announced the appointment of Frances O’Callaghan as their Accountable Officer.

Frances will join in February 2020 and will lead the formation of one North Central London CCG in April 2020, bringing together Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington CCGs. Frances takes over the role from Helen Pettersen, who departs as Accountable Officer at the end of February 2020.

Dr Jo Sauvage, Chair of Islington CCG, said: “I look forward to welcoming Frances at an important time. Forming one CCG will allow us to progress faster on plans that will improve residents’ health and reduce inequalities affecting people’s wellbeing, to deliver the best outcomes for our population. Frances will lead this crucial work, in close partnership with local NHS providers, Councils, voluntary and community organisations, our member practices and residents.”

Frances O’Callaghan, said: “I am delighted to have been appointed to the role of Accountable Officer for the North Central London Clinical Commissioning Groups. I recognise that we have challenges ahead but I look forward to working with the many talented staff who are committed to doing the very best we can for our patients and residents.”

Frances has worked in the NHS for over 20 years leading clinical services and in strategy roles, most recently as Director of Strategic Implementation and Partnerships at Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. She has been responsible for estates, communications and other corporate services at Board level, in addition to three years as a Director within the corporate finance team at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Jo Sauvage said: “I would also like to thank Helen Pettersen, who has steered our five CCGs superbly through a period of complex change and financial challenge, and has made a huge contribution to our collective successes.”
